KARACHI: Former national cricket team captain Sarfraz Ahmed has issued an encouraging message regarding the sudden cancellation of the New Zealand team’s tour of Pakistan.
Sarfraz Ahmed broke the silence on the issue of postponing
the tour by New Zealand on the social networking site Twitter under the pretext of security,
writing the slogan “Long live Pakistan” and also tweeted an encouraging poem
Sarfraz Ahmed wrote on Twitter that “you are the lamp of a living and eternal tradition,
you are an evening sun that will fade”.
“It’s a difficult time, but our determination is greater than that,” he wrote.
It may be recalled that today
the New Zealand Cricket Board and the government postponed the tour of Pakistan on the basis of security concerns.
The decision by the New Zealand Cricket Board and the government was strongly criticized by cricket fans and
cricketers. Darren Sammy tweeted on a social networking site that he has been playing fearless cricket in Pakistan for the past six years.
